The ISSA Master of Yachts course is a (10-14day) practical and theoretical course, in yacht seamanship, management and navigation.

The MOY course follows exactly the same 'ground' as the ISSA Offshore Skipper Course but prospective MOY's students, have to be of a higher standard and have knowledge to a greater depth. (The practical and managerial skills taught and examined are of a higher standard). A student successfully completing this course will qualify as a Yacht Master Offshore and receive the corresponding certification.

The MOY  training is designed to provide the highest standards of maritime education for recreational Yacht Masters. This is is an intensive course designed for experienced skippers with sufficient entry qualifications and experience. We strongly advise you to have participated in an ISSA Offshore Skipper course at least one but preferably two years before taking this course. The course is not a teaching course but is a finishing / examination course.

  • A VHF radio certificate is required
  • The STCW2010 Basic Safety Training Certification is advised
  • A medical certificate including colour blindness test is required
  • Students wishing to attend these courses must have the requisite mileage logged and signed by their previous sailing skippers and owners.

*Sail in Asia offers STCW2010 Basic Safety Training Courses thru Gallileo, as well as VHF Courses.
