Learn to Sail with our Zero to Hero courses which are available every month in Phuket and Pattaya Thailand, as well as in the Phillipines.

The Zero to Hero sailing courses are fast track courses for anyone who want to skipper a yacht safely and independently in the shortest time possible.

The Zero to Hero is ideal for new boat owners, aspiring crew members and anyone who wants to fast forward their learning and get sailing quickly.

We strongly recommend the 14 day Classic course as it is 40% longer than most sailing Schools. You get a more thorough course and leave us knowing so much and being competent in all the skills in the syllabus. Students taking this course really learn how to sail and skipper a yacht safely, efficiently and enjoyably! Compare our course to other schools before spending your money.

A 9-Day learn to sail course for beginners to Inshore Skipper 1 level

This course starts with the Yacht Crew course on which you learn to sail a yacht and to be a useful crew member. This is combined with the Inshore Skipper 1 and the VHF radio Course. This takes you to the next level; allowing you to be the senior crew member on-deck whilst the skipper is resting below. You'll have basic navigation skills and the Watchkeeper qualification by the end of the course. You should always sail with a qualified skipper. You may also skipper a yacht as part of a supported flotilla. This course includes VHF radio certification.

Zero-to-Hero Option 1 is a composite course. The normal schedule is:

What's required: Sun protection. Sun hat. Shorts that cover the knees when sitting are best. Footwear for on-board tennis shoes / trainers / Crocs. Some people like to use gloves. Lightweight wet weather clothing.

A 10-Day learn to sail course for those that already have basic sailing skills

This is the 10-Day combination course for you if you already have basic sailing skills. The course includes , VHF Radio Operator and ISSA Inshore Skipper certificate (1 and 2).

You must have a Yacht Crew certificate or equivalent experience in order to enroll in this course. By the end of the course you will be qualified to skipper a yacht during the hours of daylight in good weather conditions. This course includes VHF Radio Certification.

A 14-Day Combination Course - from beginner to fully qualified skipper

The 'classic' course is by far our most popular course. Sail in Asia has almost completed 2000 Zero to Hero courses since 2004. This 14-day course takes you from complete beginner and ends with you becoming a qualified ISSA Inshore Skipper. With the full Inshore Skipper Certification you are able to charter a yacht anywhere in the world and skipper it safely during daylight hours and in good weather conditions. This course also includes the VHF Radio Operators Course.

Remember - you get 14 days not just 10 on this course. Many schools are cutting this course short to just 10 days. With Sail in Asia you get 4 days more - 40% more time - for a better price!
