SIA Training Fleet - Learn to Sail on holiday in Thailand, Palawan or Malaysia. The yachts that we use for training have been carefully chosen for their suitability for learning to sail, in tropical locations. Our Yacht Fleet in Phuket comprises twelve vessels, a JOD 35, 2 Farr 1104s, 7 Platu One Design Yachts, a Corsair 28 Trimaran and an 6m RIB (with 115HP Suzuki outboard).

The videos below show our yachts in action and you can see that we have a very wide range of yachts that can be used from everything from Learn To Sail for beginners to Yacht Master Offshore Training vessels. Platus are used for beginners sailing lessons, for advanced racing courses, for International Schools Expeditions and Zero to Hero, sailing courses.

Our sea bases are situated in the last of the worlds unspoilt locations, in tropical waters teeming with marine life. When you choose to learn to sail with Sail in Asia, you choose the perfect holiday location too!

A Platu is a superb teaching boat and is usually the yacht we choose to start off beginners. The Farr 1104s have large, comfortable cockpits and plenty of space, they allow excellent student / instructor interaction making learning to sail safe, easy and fun. However, they also have the heart of a racing yacht making them responsive and fun to sail, especially in stronger breezes. 1104's are used for the more advanced courses, including navigation and passage making. OUR JOD 35 is really popular for weekend sailing and racinG whereas thefor Corsair Trimaran is just pure fun! It screams across the bay but it is easy to handle.
All our yachts have a good turn of speed and are popular in local racing regattas like the Phuket King's Cup Regatta, The One Design Regatta, The Sailors Regatta and of course, the Langkawi International Regatta.

The medium displacement Farr 1104 Cruiser Racers are great passage boats and ideal for offshore racing as well as inshore marina and coastal training. Last year we bought an F28R Corsair Trimaran, to add to our fleet. Its a superb boat to learn all that's to be learned, about fast catamaran sailing! The Corsair 28 is so easy to sail and fabulous for sailing up the beach.

All our yachts are great training boats but they are also top racing yachts and have won many Asian Regattas. Piccolo has won the Sydney Hobart Race, King's Cup and Raja Muda. Our One Design Platu Fleet is the only One Design Fleet (monohull) in Phuket.
