Our ISSA Basic Deckhand Course is a superyacht training course that will give you the vital STCW 2010 basic safety training certificate plus.
This superyacht deckhand training course is a composite 14 day course (Four ISSA courses are included).
The course aims to provide prospective deckhands with the skills, training and certification to apply for opportunities as a deckhand on all types of yacht.
If you have a skill such as catering, carpentry, electrical engineering, or plumbing you might think you would be attractive to superyacht captains. Actually this is not the case, as a minimum you also need STCW2010 basic safety training. The other training courses included will be invaluable in making you much more attractive to a skipper. With the qualifications gained on this superyacht training course you can approach any owner or skipper with the confidence that you have the skills needed.
These courses are ideal for anyone training for their first position on any yacht. STCW2010 is a mandatory course for all commercial seafarers. The ISSA VHF Radio Course and the RIB Skipper Course are valuable courses as many "deckies" will be required to work with radios and the large RIBs that are standard on most superyachts.
